Walk for Auroville unity
Around 500 Aurovilians have gathered in response to the disharmony Auroville is currently facing. To counter the division which is being created with unity.
Here is their statement read before the walk in English and Tamil:
Dear Aurovilians,
Dear brothers and sisters,
Welcome everyone, its great to be here together with you!
We will share a few words in English and in Tamil and then spend five minutes together in concentration before walking to the Banyan Tree for a silent meditation to invoke mother’s guidance for the residents of Auroville.

We have gathered here today in response to the disharmony Auroville is currently facing. To counter the division which is being created with unity! We are here to make our statement heard, loud and clear.
Our strength as members of the Residents Assembly lies in our diversity, our collective aspirations and in our service to the ideals of the Mother and to Auroville.

It is the urgent need of the hour for the RA to show its solidarity and strength as a central pillar of Auroville’s organisation and manifestation.
Let’s offer our full support for the newly selected Working Groups of the RA, and all the community services which are under intense pressure.
Let’s also reflect on our individual contribution as residents, as mother said in The Dream
„In short, it would be a place where human relationships, which are normally based almost exclusively on competition and strife, would be replaced by relationships of emulation in doing well, of collaboration and real brotherhood.“

Let us continually invest ourselves fully in embodying the charter of Auroville.
The Auroville Charter
Auroville belongs to nobody in particular. Auroville belongs to humanity as a whole. But, to live in Auroville, one must be a willing servitor of the Divine Consciousness.
Auroville will be the place of an unending education, of constant progress, and a youth that never ages.
Auroville wants to be the bridge between the past and the future. Taking advantage of all discoveries from without and from within, Auroville will boldly spring towards future realisations.
Auroville will be a site of material and spiritual researches for a living embodiment of an actual human unity.
