FIR filed by PKS against 32 people related to Evergreen land grab
PK Subramani, the person responsible for encroaching and grabbing Auroville land in Evergreen and the Abri/Ami corner, has gone to the Vanur Court to get an order issued to the police for an FIR to be filed against 32 individuals. Consequently, an FIR dated the 4th of January, 2023, has been registered by the local police and filed with the Vanur Court with no notification to any of the respondents until Wednesday the 18th.
Many of the names listed in the FIR are unknown, however, it includes members and staff of the Land Board as well as other residents of Auroville and even two who left Auroville years ago.

This is to inform you that it has come to our notice that PK Subramani, the person responsible for encroaching and grabbing Auroville land in Evergreen and the Abri/Ami corner, has gone to the Vanur Court to get an order issued to the police for an FIR to be filed against 32 individuals. Consequently, an FIR dated the 4th of January, 2023, has been registered by the local police and filed with the Vanur Court with no notification to any of the respondents until Wednesday the 18th.

Names mentioned in the FIR are: Sathyaseelan, Kamalakannan, Raja, Selvarani, Renu, Arul, Mani Pillai, Valli, Natasha, Tom, Sukrit, Aravinda, Frederick, Vera, Michel, Ludu, Erik, Kuthavi, Helen, Ivan, Raji, Tamar, Amir, Aran, Kali, Bastian, Bettina, Dave, Krishna, Yuval, Anan, Ilana.
The FIR is filed under the following Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections roughly translated here: 147 (Punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, being armed with a deadly weapon), 447 (criminal trespass), 294(b) (sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words), 506(1) (criminal intimidation), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees); Section 3(1) (An Act to provide for punishment and compensation for damage and loss caused to [any property and the public] in the State of Tamil Nadu and matters connected therewith.)
We understand that some of you may feel a certain amount of distress and insecurity about this FIR and we would like to reassure you that you will be kept informed and supported accordingly once we know more and we have received legal advice from our advocates.
